We brought sandwiches, soft drinks for the children and some money to buy hot drinks. Unfortunately the parking machines didn't accept card payments, a problem throughout the area, so we had to use most of our money to park. My husband then went into the cafe and didn't quite have enough for a brew so asked whether they accepted card payments. He was told they didn't and thanked the male staff member before leaving. As he was walking out he heard the member of staff commenting to the next customer about him not bringing money to a place like this. There was no need to be rude. You are a cafe in a country park which is a good 10 to 15 minute walk from town in a popular tourist area. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask whether you have a card machine.
